CNC Swiss-type parts. Our core craft.

Precision parts from bar stock up to Ø 42 mm. Rotationally symmetric turned parts in series – for complex geometries with maximum repeatability.

CNC Swiss-Type Turning

CNC Swiss-type turning is our core competence – precision parts from bar stock up to Ø 42 mm, reproducible from the very first unit.

Since the purchase of our first CNC Swiss-type lathe, Swiss-type parts have been our core craft. Today we manufacture complex, rotationally symmetric precision parts on modern Swiss-type automatics – in lot sizes from prototype to high-volume series.

The advantage of Swiss-type turning: thin, long workpieces are supported directly at the guide bushing during machining – resulting in extremely high roundness and surface finish, even for delicate geometries.

Typical parts: stems, spindles, shafts, bushings, contact pins, medical handpiece components.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ on CNC Swiss-type parts.

Up to what diameter do you machine on Swiss-type lathes?+
Bar stock up to Ø 42 mm. The typical sweet spot of the Marquart Swiss-type automatics is Ø 3–32 mm with lengths from 30 to 200 mm.
What tolerances can be achieved in Swiss-type turning?+
IT7 is standard; IT6 is achievable with targeted machining strategies. Tighter tolerances usually with downstream grinding.
How economical are small batches?+
Economical from a lot size of 50. Prototypes from quantity 1 with transparent setup costs.
Can you also do cross holes and milling operations?+
Yes. Our machines are equipped with live tooling – complete machining in one setup including cross holes, polygon milling, internal and external threads.
Which materials do you machine?+
Free-cutting steels, stainless steels (1.4305, 1.4404, 1.4571), brass, bronze, aluminium alloys, titanium Grade 2 and Grade 5, engineering plastics (POM, PEEK). Special materials on request.
Which file formats do you accept for drawings?+
STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF and PDF. STEP is preferred because 3D data makes optimization suggestions easier.
